Delete your account

You can permanently delete your Just Checking In account and personal data at any time. Here's how, and exactly what happens to your information. This applies to the Just Checking In app on iOS and Android, operated by Heraclius, LLC (Georgia, USA).

How to delete your account

Delete from your phone

Open Just Checking In and go to Settings.
Tap "Delete account".
Confirm with the verification step when prompted. Your account is deactivated right away and permanently erased after a 30-day recovery period. Sign back in within 30 days to restore it.

By request · no app needed

Request deletion by email

If you can no longer access the app, email privacy@justcheckingin.co from the email address on your account, or include the phone number you registered with, and ask us to delete your account. We'll verify it's you and confirm once it's done.

What gets deleted

Your profile: name, email, phone number, and profile photo
Your check-ins and mood history
Mood streaks
Friends and friend requests
"Watch" safety connections
Scheduled check-ins and invitations
Reminders you've set
Your subscription record
Notifications
Your chats and the messages you sent (1:1 and group)
Photos and images you uploaded
Support and feedback you submitted

Kept for a limited time

Security and audit logs: retained briefly to prevent fraud and abuse and to meet legal obligations, then removed.
Anonymous analytics: usage events already collected can't be linked back to you and remain in aggregate only.
Backups: residual copies cycle out of secure backups within a short window.

Timing

When you confirm deletion (or when we verify an email request), we immediately deactivate your account and stop your reminders and notifications, then permanently delete your account and personal data after a 30-day recovery period. If you sign back in within those 30 days, everything is restored. After the 30-day period, deletion is permanent and cannot be undone, and you'll need to create a new account to use the app again.
